    The annual Hull Trinity House Academy Sports day was held on Wednesday 20Th June at Costello Stadium

     Hull Trinity House Academy has been keeping the records of all track events since we began our sports day at Costello Stadium in 1987. However, in 1995 students were admitted to the school in year 7 whereas previously it was year 9, therefore records were re-written accordingly.

  • Hull Trinity House Nautical College Open Day

    We are organising an Open Day for the Hull Trinity House College on Wednesday 20th June 2018 5pm-7pm. This is aimed at Post 16 students interested in a Maritime based Career for opportunities for Level 2 / Level 3 or an Apprenticeship (deck or engineering). Experienced members of staff will be on hand to show you the facilities and what we have to offer. We hope to see you there.

  • Dinner Day 2018

    On Wednesday 21st March we had our Annual Dinner Day. Dinner Day is a celebration of our Founders Day. Hull Trinity House School was founded in 1787, when it was then known as 'Hull Trinity House Marine School' and it was officially opened on 2nd February 1787.

    The anniversary of this event is now celebrated as Founders Day but over the years this annual tradition has become known as Dinner Day. This is due to the tradition of the oldest students in the school, leaving and literally walking out onto the dock

  • Triple Trawler Tragedy

    9th March 2018

    On Sunday 4th March 2018, Hull Trinity House Academy Principal Graham Moffatt attended the Triple Trawler Tragedy Service at Hull Minster along with other members of staff and the White Squad. It was a memorial to remember the 58 men lost at sea at that time. Along with the thousands of others that have also lost their lives at sea. It was a poignant service with a minute of silence that was so still you could hear passers-by on the street outside.

  • Centenary Plaque Ceremony

    As part of the City of Culture year celebrations, the 100th Lord Mayor of Hull City Council, Councillor Mary Glew, is marking unsung heroes of all Hull people who made a difference nationally and internationally, by erecting 100 plaques around the City in recognition of their commitment to Hull.  Hull Trinity House Academy was proud to host the unveiling of the 67th plaque to commemorate Luxe Foxe (1585-1635) on Thursday 8th February 2018.

    Year 7 Motte and Bailey Castle Competition

    Many year & students took part in producing a historically accurate Motte and Bailey castle. Criteria for the competion was that the castle must include:

    Motte              Palisade             
    Bailey Drawbridge

    The History department were overwhelmed by the number of entries. The quality and attention to detail that the models demonstrated was outstanding. We even had one entry that was made from baked goods!

  • Tigers Trust Opportunity for Year 11 Students

    The Tigers Trust have recently been in the school talking to the year 11’s about their NCS project that takes place in the summer holidays. NCS is a 20 day personal development programme, that is recognised by both universities and employers, as well as having lots more amazing benefits.  The programme is funded by the government, with them investing £1,500 in each child’s place. The cost of the programme is a maximum of £35 and this includes a 4 night residential in the Lake District in week 1. For more in

    Happy New Year to all our students and their families.

    The students have started the new term in a positive manner, looking smart and being prepared for the school day with their equipment. 

    A letter is being sent out to parents/carers to remind students of our expectations and update on the positive developments so far this academic year.

  • School Opening Reminder

    6th January 2018
    A polite reminder to our parents and carers. 
    As scheduled, the Academy will be closed to students on Monday 8th January for staff training. The new term will begin for students on Tuesday 9th January, with the school day starting with preparation for Parade at the normal time of 08:40. 
    The Academy refectory will be open to students from 07:00 (food and drink being available from 08:00). The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) will also be open from 08:00. 
  • Golden Apple Award

    15th December 2017

    Teaching Assistant Michelle Adams was nominated by staff, current students and Old Boys for the Golden Apple Award with Hull Daily Mail for her services at the Academy.

    Michelle has the care of many students in different situations and circumstances and with different needs; from in-lesson support, to exam reading and scribing for students, to driving a powerboat or supporting students with additional needs so they can participate in sailing activities.

  • Christmas Dinner, 14th December 2017

    The Academy will be having Christmas dinner on Thursday 14th December. Your son/charge has already booked his dinner in advance. There will be no access to other hot dinners tomorrow and no food at break tomorrow. Please remember to send a packed luch with students who are not participating in the Christmas lunch. Year 10 & Year 11 Officers will be allowed out of the Academy as usual and will be informed on the day as to the time they are expected to return for lessons.

    Trinity All The Way! The annual Hull Trinity House Academy Christmas concert is on the 15th December from 6pm onwards. Featuring Hull Trinity's awesome Steel Band and some of our most musically talented students. Tickets can be purchased on Parent Pay: Adults £4 and Child/Concession £3. See you all there!

  • Prison Me! No Way!

    Today, all of Year 9 were participating in the interactive Prison Me No Way program. Students were involved in workshops using both role play and discussion to understand how the justice system works.
