Centenary Plaque Ceremony

As part of the City of Culture year celebrations, the 100th Lord Mayor of Hull City Council, Councillor Mary Glew, is marking unsung heroes of all Hull people who made a difference nationally and internationally, by erecting 100 plaques around the City in recognition of their commitment to Hull.  Hull Trinity House Academy was proud to host the unveiling of the 67th plaque to commemorate Luxe Foxe (1585-1635) on Thursday 8th February 2018.

During his lifetime Luke Foxe was a Navigator, Seaman, Arctic Explorer of the Canadian North, Author and a Brother of Trinity House.

Those in attendance were: Councillor Mary Glew, Captain J D Coggin, Master Warden, Graham Moffatt, Principal of Hull Trinity House Academy, David Osgerby, Local Poet, along with members of the Brethren from Hull Trinity House.
