Christmas Carol Service

On the 5th December, we held our annual Lessons and Carol Service at the Trinity House Chapel.

The service was attended by Year 7 students along with Councillor Steve Wilson, Deputy Mayor of Kingston upon Hull, the Brethren, residents of Trinity House Rest Homes and other distinguished guests.

The House Chaplain, the Reverend Tony Cotson began with the opening prayer, the service then followed with readings of each of the lessons by the following people:

First Lesson:      Genesis 3:8-15                               Kobi Toft,Y7 student 

Second Lesson:  Genesis 22:15-18                           Capt C J Anderson, Old Boy

Third Lesson:     Isaiah 9: 2, 6-7                              Sam Robinson, Vice-Captain

Fourth Lesson:   Isaiah 11:1-4,6-9                           Mr I Turton, Parent

Fifth Lesson:      Luke 1:26-35, 38.                          Capt D M Shaw, Master Warden

Sixth Lesson:     Luke 2:1, 3-7.                               Cllr Steve Wilson, Deputy Lord Mayor   

Seventh Lesson: Luke 2:8-16                                  Mr G Moffatt, Principal 

Eighth Lesson:   Matthew 2:1-12                             Mrs P Waterman, Head of Student Services 

Ninth Lesson:     John 1:1-14                                  The Chaplain, Rev'd Tony Cotson.                                         

The Trinity Steel band accompanied by Mrs Goodson played a collection of carols in the Calypso style.As always we finished the service with closing prayers and the last verse of Eternal Father, Strong to Save.  

The service was both moving and engaging to reflect upon the coming festive period. We would like to express our thanks to all our guests, speakers, students and staff for attending our Christmas Carol Service and for making it such a special occasion.
