Y6 Open Evening Wednesday 29th September
Year 6 children and their parents have an opportunity to learn about the exciting future of
Hull Trinity House Academy on Wednesday, 29th September.
Parents and children will hear about plans to switch to a new location, provide a broader curriculum, and give Year 6 girls the chance to attend for the first time from next September.
The Open Evening takes place between 5pm and 7.30pm at the Academy’s Charlotte Street Mews site.
Principal Graham Moffatt said the changes would not alter the school’s strong ethos.
“We strive for excellence in everything we do, we have a reputation for high academic standards. We expect students to have exemplary conduct and stretch and challenge themselves daily.”

While the Ofsted-rated ‘good’ school was thriving, it was limited by its 600 capacity.
Hull Trinity House is part of Delta Academies Trust and its chief executive officer Paul Tarn said significant investment would be made at the new location on Beverley Road.
“We want to ensure more young people across Hull and East Yorkshire can experience the unique educational offer at Hull Trinity House,” Mr Tarn said.
“We are determined that the young people of Hull will have the highest quality of education and training, so that they can benefit from the opportunities created by the renewables sector and other industries in the city.
“They must not be observers as others are recruited into the region. We hope to have a strong attendance at the Open Evening.”
Mr Moffatt was “excited” about the academy’s future.
“Maritime studies, our distinctive uniform, and our traditional parades and services will remain fundamental.
“But we will also offer an enhanced curriculum in much improved facilities, including better sports facilities, specialist performance areas and state of the art technology,” said Mr Moffatt.
“And, in 2021, why shouldn’t girls have the same educational opportunities as boys?
“We are delighted to be able to offer places to current Year 6 girls from next September.
“That change and the school’s growth will be gradual, managed over a number of years.
“Parents can be reassured safeguarding is at the heart of every decision we have made.
“We continue to listen to the wide-ranging feedback received from the consultation undertaken with Hull City Council on the proposed changes.
“The school’s historic position in the city’s educational landscape is hugely important to us.
“We will work with the school’s founders the Brethren to ensure we build on those traditions as we look to the future.
“I look forward to welcoming Year 6 children and their parents to the Open Evening on the 29th September.”
