Students at Hull Trinity House Academy attended a service at Hull Minister, held to remember those lost in the Gaul trawler tragedy 50 years ago.

Civic dignitaries paraded through the Old Town, from the Guildhall to the church, where muffled bells were rang to mark the sombre occasion.

Thirty-six men died when the Gaul sank off Norway on the night of February 8-9 1974.

Students gave up their time over half term to attend and in the words of the Lord Lieutenant of East Yorkshire did ‘us proud’ one of our students is the Lord Lieutenants cadet, he can be seen carrying the wreath in the Marine Uniform.
